3rd ABC Conference, 2-3 November 2004, in Aviemore, Scotland
Come and interact with world-leading thinkers and doers in broadband and understand how to capture
the benefits of broadband use. Your invitation to attend...
Digital Dales Broadband Conference at Harrogate on Monday 12th July.
The conference saw an excellent mix of local Government bodies, led by Yorkshire Forward the lead sponsor plus a number of Colleges and Universities including 2 from Scotland. There were a number of community representatives that came seeking advice on how to progress their needs, all of which we were able to address by introductions to the right solution providers… Plus a very healthy mix of SMEs seeking information that will give them a competitive advantage.
The presentations were very well received, with the keynote by our very own CEO Brian Condon who gave us his vision for 2010, “Futurology, what comes next”.
BT’s Trevor Higgins gave us a run down on progress toward DSL rollout and an insight into how things are likely to change.
The BBC’s Robert Freeman and Ian Myatt gave us an excellent overview of the interactive content they are developing for the benefit of local communities. This is likely to stimulate demand for BB from those that just like the content and find it useful. www.bbc.co.uk/england
Daniel Heery was able to explain the benefits of IP telephony and how it will change the way we talk to each other and pay less to do so. www.cybermoor.tv
TV Eyes showed us a service that will be available shortly, which allows businesses to seek out video and radio clips by keyword, similar to a press cutting service but for Radio and TV with results streamed direct to your PC. www.tveyes.com
Once again we were instrumental in helping all the various interest groups to interact with each other and understand each others needs. Also called NETWORKING, a big feature of our conferences and deemed very useful!
